Inman Perk Coffee is sponsoring the Southern Sailing Special Olympics Regatta!

Special Olympics Georgia (SOGA) was founded in 1970 and since has grown to serve 22,742 athletes across the state of GA. The mission of Special Olympics Georgia (SOGA) is to provide year-round sports training and competition in 23 Olympic type sports to children and adults with intellectual disabilities. Children and adults who participate in our programs better themselves physically, psychologically and socially as those who participate in our competitions gain physical fitness, an understanding of how to work to achieve a goal, interpersonal skills and so much more!

SOGA’s budget is supported by individuals, corporate sponsors and special events like this 7th Annual Open Regatta. SOGA receives no state, local, federal or United Way money. Our fundraising efforts allow us to keep all of our programs at no cost to our athletes and their families.

Your donation is greatly appreciated and will help a prospective skipper raise the $250.00 requested to race in the Open Regatta.

Sebastian shared this words with us about his work:

Through my photography, I hope to share the subtle scenes, settings and ideas that I happen upon. I photograph to learn, I enjoy the discovery process and learning how to see ordinary things in new ways. My goal is to give the hint at something greater just underneath and the feeling of being on the verge of a new discovery.

I currently photograph with digital as well as film, using any technique that gets the result that I happen to be after. I never use any kind of radical post processing as I find that it usually takes away from the initial character of the image. My subjects include anything that moves me to capture it. It usually ends up being something beautiful, dark or unusual. I enjoy taking most of my photos somewhere off the beaten path and try to make them quite personal. I hope that as much enjoyment can be had from viewing them as I had in making them.

Continually photographing anything that catches my eye.

1:00 pmto4:00 pm

Atlanta-based artist Betsy Shank will be at Inman Perk Coffee’s Flowery Branch location this Sunday, October 1, from 1 to 4 p.m.

Abundance by Betsy Shank

About her “Nature of Passion” series, she says:

The beauty of nature and the wonderful diversity of people and places are a constant source of creative inspiration for me in my paintings. Joy is the core of what I find when I create. I often celebrate this through bursting colors and a variety of texture!

The energy of life in our natural world and the creative energy that moves me to paint are somehow intertwined. I want life to move me as an artist. I want it to touch my heart so that I can let everything magical I find flow freely from my fingers onto the canvas. I’d like to share something good with the world around me through my art!

Please join us this Sunday to meet Betsy and check out her work!
